Is there a way to get the ipod touch update from apple without paying 19.99?

Theft. You could alternatively buy a new iPod, which wouldn’t cost you $19.99 that’s for sure.

yea, if you jailbreak it, you can activate the january iPhone app for free, as well as many other apps and games and themes and backgrounds and other cool stuff.

Buy an iPhone. I used to have a touch. iPhones are so much better.

theres lots of different ways to jailbreak. ziphone is pretty easy to use it says iphone, but theres an option to jailbreak ipod touch too. http://www.ziphone.org/

Actually you don’t have to jailbreak your iPod touch. The 9.99$ 2.0 Software Update available on iTunes includes the January update. So instead of paying the 19.99 for just five application, you can now pay 9.99 for those applications, plus the new 2.0 Software
