Boring question #45: What type of dog makes a man sexy?

Asked by Hypocrisy_Central (26879points) June 28th, 2011

I guess this is a question more for women, but if you were out at the park jogging, or strolling along the street and you seen a guy with __________ breed of dog, that would make him look sexy to you? Or it is not the breed but the size of the dog in general; such as a large dog or a ”purseable dog”?

Standing next to this one will make anything look good.
“Man-purseable” dogs aren’t for me. XD

I don’t think I have ever looked at a man with a dog and thought, the dog makes him sexier. It might make me think he is a nice guy, a good guy, a sweetie, but sexy? Dog + man does not = sexy to me.

Are you thinking of buying a dog @Hypocrisy_Central? :-)

Plucky's avatar

The sexy part would be how he/she behaves with the dog. It wouldn’t matter what size or type.

@FutureMemory You made me lol.

@Bellatrix I am a cat man, I like a pet I can open the door and they will go take care of business on their own. Dragging dead and half dead rodents, and lizards to the door and occasionally in the house is not so great, but I know once they get through with business it is buried so I never know where it is and they will always come home because they know I am their slave and will have the food ready.

Definitely French bulldogs.

I will take a second glance at a man with one of those! They are so cute! :3

Now I’m looking at pictures of really cute puppies so I won’t go to work in such a sour mood.

The one on the end of the leash my gal is walking! WOOF! ;)

I don’t think dogs “make” anyone sexy or unsexy. People with puppies will get a lot of attention when they’re out, though.

Any dog except a major fighting dog with a spiked collar.

I never think a dog makes a man sexy, in fact a dog is a deterrent to me. If I had to pick a dog I would say a labrador.

A Dalmation

I tend to think that guys who have large dogs (like the Neo that Lucy posted) are guys with small dicks.

I kid

If the guy is treating the dog well, and the guy is cute, well, that’s attractive to me. I’m easy. :)

Scruffy Terrier breeds. They are fun and not pretentious. They also tend to dream big!

No dog at all. A cat makes a man sexy. lol

I have a cat and geese, we don’t do dogs over here. Human or otherwise. haha

So are we falling in love with the dog or the guy or both or what? lol

I tend to like big cute dogs, so if the guy it easy on the eyes too and permeates confidence while walking said dog, I guess I must like them. Is the guy sexier? I don’t think so I think the kind of guy I like would have the same ‘look’ w/out a dog.

I don’t think any dog really makes a man more sexy. I agree with @PluckyDog. Its usually the behavior of dog with master that can make him seem more approachable. However, a great dane or a doberman or a bit bull can make a strong man look stronger but I’m not sure either would make him seem approachable because many people fear large dogs. So it may scare off some prospects. A man with a small dog that may be tender may get some attention. (Small dogs usually give people the same vibes as seeing a man with a baby only without the wife aspect or girlfriend or finding a baby sitter.) But being that so many perves use dogs as bait for small children or to lure women into feeling at ease with them, I think woman have grown weary of men with small dogs. You might get their attention but a smart women wouldn’t give a total stranger her number no matter what type of dog.

A German Sheperd might do it. Plus of course it would help if the guy owner looks like George Clooney or Brad Pitt. : )

Any kind of cute dog will work, especially if the man seems to really love dogs, rather than just having a big scary dog for protection or to look macho.

If I saw a man with a Pug or an English Bulldog or a Schnauzer or a Dachsund or a Basset Hound I would just melt.

I’m just so sick of seeing “gangsta” looking men (usually in their early 20’s) who are all muscled up, walking around the suburbs with pit bulls. I would think that a big, young, strapping, muscled dude like that would be the least likely person to need protection. When I see those types of guys I get afraid, then disgusted. There have been quite a few pit bull attacks in my town, very recently. Mostly babies and elderly people.

Plucky's avatar

@Kardamom Does that work with women? My dog is part Schnauzer and my sister owns/breeds English Bulldogs (she also breeds Boston Terriers) – She has 4 bulldogs that I can borrow for this strut. :P

Kardamom's avatar

I just tend to flock to people that have cute dogs with them, male or female. Mostly the person has to actually enjoy being with their dog (rather than just having one as a lure).

German Shepherd/ Labrador / Golden Retriever. :D

Small dogs are unsexy to me. I love my Pomeranian, but I would think a guy was less sexy if he had a Pomeranian.

Now, if a guy wanted to walk my Pom Pom for me, that would be very sexy indeed.

Neizvestnaya's avatar

I can’t imagine any dog making the man himself more appealing, adding anything to his style but like @athenasgriffin, a particular little ratty dog would kind of shatter my James Bond-man fantasy.

My fiancee has a min-pin/chihuahua dog and I’ve never been able to figure it out.

Hypocrisy_Central's avatar

@mazingerz88 Plus of course it would help if the guy owner looks like George Clooney or Brad Pitt. : ) Why not a Brad Garret type, or Spencer Pratt, Tracy Morgan, or A.J. Buckley type?

jonsblond's avatar

If a guy is walking this, I know he has a sensitive soul.

so sexy

OpryLeigh's avatar

@jonsblond I love ugly dogs. They’re sometimes cuter than the pretty ones!
