Why won't Chrome download on my computer?

Asked by Aesthetic_Mess (7894points) March 15th, 2011

I am currently using Firefox, and it’s okay, but I prefer Chrome.
I had Chrome once before, but my computer caught a virus, and I wiped the whole thing clean and started from scratch. When I try to download Google Chrome, it goes through the whole downloading process, but when the browser window opens up, it gives me a blank page, and keeps “Loading”. Why won’t it work on my computer anymore? Is there anything I can do to fix it?

This is a known issue and caused by a malware belonging to the family Rootkit.Win32.TDSS
Make sure you have Antivirus software running with the latest definitions.

Chrome has had this kind of problem for the past few months. It is the main chrome database that is lagging and not the browser. Just try to update it and then unistall and then redownload and install

Count your blessings. Google Chrome really, really sucks.
