Are you dressing for Halloween this year, work, party, etc.?

Asked by Here2_4 (7152points) October 5th, 2014

Some places have costume contests. Some employers encourage costumes. Some of us have parties to go to. To tell the truth, I need some ideas.
What are you planning to wear, and for what occasion? Maybe just for handing out treats?

For a little idea, why don’t you dress like that thing in your avatar? :p

To tell the truth my country doesn’t celebrate Halloween. Some people even don’t know what it is. I can only experience Halloween through TV ans the web. There are some Halloween parties from time to time too, but they aren’t official, just started by some enthusiatic people…

Right now I have black hair in a pixie cut and glasses. I’m TOTALLY going to be Harry Potter this year.

Halloween isn;t a big thing in the UK but some workplaces encourage it – mine usually does but I’ve not heard a peep about it yet this year so maybe they’ve forgotten.

Also Halloween costumes in the UK are just about 100% “spooky” type costumes; ghosts, vampires, zombies, etc. You could probably get away with characters from Rocky Horror or other horror films (Hannibal Lecter, Freddie, etc). Nobody really does anything else here.

No. Can’t risk scaring the horses over here.
The last time I dressed up I was an old time American Indian. Pigtails, head band with feather, leather thongs in my hair, fringed leather dress, and a bow and arrow. Probably not PC these days but I was a cute little Squaw. haha

I never make a big deal out of Halloween. It is a non holiday to me.

No way, not my thing. Never has been. I stopped dressing up for Halloween about age 15.

kind of a tossup between a Storm trooper, and a Cow.

^^ Cow as Stormtrooper ??

I would like to dress up, but never have the time in October. I need to learn to plan ahead.

This year, I’m honestly just using Halloween as an excuse to dress up as Marcelline the Vampire Queen from Adventure Time.

I want to… I want to go trick or treating with my friend hahaha. I’m not sure what I should dress up as though. Go as something cute and simple, or make a complete cosplay out of it? I’d rather not buy store costumes though, a lot of the girl costumes are too showy.

I don’t have anything planned. If I get invited to a party I’ll come up with something, but it is unlikely that will happen. My husband and I used to have old standbyes that were kitty ears for me and I would pain a cat face and wear a black unitard. My husband had a pirate patch and would put one of my wigs on for long wavy hair. Only God knows where those things are right now, everythng is in boxes.

If I was thin enough to fit in my wedding dress I would wear that and go as a bride, finally get a second use out of the thing.

I have something in mind. Something unforgettable.

What? Spooky, or cute?

@Here2_4 Neither spooky or cute. Something heroic within the “Dark” community.
