Is he jealous?

Asked by Zachary_Mendes123 (1237points) April 4th, 2017

So my little brother is going to be hanging out with me for a few days and he’s starting to get kind of rude. When he saw me he said “acne boy” and that’s my nick name but only when I have break outs. He was also rude about my height. I’m 6’9 and I told him, “I have to duck to get though door ways every day”.

He is not jealous, just obsessed. Talk to him. He might have something inside of him to talk. By the way how old is he?

Hahahahaha….. don’t worry my 3 year old niece is way irritating than you brother. @Zachary_Mendes123 kids during these age are don’t know about jealousy, just love him. Give him some chocolate and ice creams, the problem will be solved.

Tell him he hurt your feelings and use it as an opportunity to talk to him about other people’s feelings and how he should try to be nice.

If he’s 6 you just need to have a conversation with him and his guardian (your parents?) since he is 6 I don’t think it’s a jealousy thing. Talk to him politely and don’t be rude back. He probably doesn’t realize his behavior is unacceptable.

and damn, you’re almost 7 feet? I am surprised he isn’t intimidated by you

You can’t really fault a 6 year old who probably has no idea that his comments are hurtful or tasteless. “Acne Boy”- now there’s a nickname too sophisticated to have been cooked up by a kid of 6. It’s time to give your little brother the talk about his responsibilities when it comes to the feelings of others.

@stanleybmanly I made up the nickname up last month when I had a breakout.

@Zachary_Mendes123 If you made up the nickname, and told him, he probably thinks it’s okay to call you that because you called yourself that.

@SergeantQueen my roommate actually said it out loud so that my brother could hear it. Now he just says it all the time but I’ve started not to care.

You and your brother probably now look on the title with fondness. Sounds like he looks up to his big brother. Bet he’s looking forward to his own acne!
