What is it that Putin and Trump have in common?

Asked by stanleybmanly (24153points) April 16th, 2017 from iPhone

How about the fact that both of them are about the business of portraying the world as a “reality” TV show in which they write and direct the script?

It’s fascinating that the 2 of them have determined that people must (and will) accept whichever definition of the truth suits the royal disposition.

@stanleybmanly It’s called being a tyrant.
They both hold the media in their hands. Thus, they can, and will, decide what is the truth and what isn’t. That power gives them the right to think they hold the world in their hands, that they are the world, and when you take a look at it, they don’t think like that for no reason.

They are both power-hungry despots without any sense of ethics or morality.

But @Sneki95 Trump is clearly finding it difficult to wrangle up a compliant press. He has yet to resort to his counterpart’s remedy of murdering journalists willy nilly for deviations from his own peceptions.

@stanleybmanly
because unlike Putin, he is not smart enough to get away with it.

Both make decisions that will benefit their investments and themselves over the good of the country. Of course they will use the “What’s good for me is good for the country.” argument.

Now that they are teamed up they can play with and manipulate the stock market at will. Does anyone here honestly think at least a few people in the Trump organization did not “invest” in an oil stock play before he launched the missiles?

GREAT answer @LuckyGuy .^^

Both are narcissistic megalomaniacs, but Putin is a lot smarter and his resume shows he is a lot better at winning the international political equivalent of street fights.

I think they both frequent the same Ukrainian brothel.

Maybe a more appropriate comparison would be between Trump and Kim Jong-un.
