I’d assume that there are more warmer climate countries than cold countries. IF you look at a world map, most of h land mass is near the center of the globe where the climate is warmer. The colder areas are closer to the north or south poles. Also, I guess it depends on where you live as to what you consider hot or cold. Where I live, the average temp ranges from 70–100 during the warmer months and 20–40 during the colder months. I complain about being cold when we get down to 40, where a friend who lives further north finds 40’s to be warm. There the hottest part of the summer is only 70 or so. My cousin lives in Florida & when it drops below 70, he’s pulling out his winter clothing because he’s cold.

I would say, most classify as moderate climates. But, I too, would need a more accurate definition of what the OP considers “hot.”

I’m in Charleston, SC. Our summer temperatures, can reach over 100°F, with humidity, usually over 85%. Our winters, are usually mild. Today, it will be 70° F. Alaska, would add a curve, to the country’s average temperature. As would Florida, and parts of the southwest.

I don’t know how you define hot, but I define it as warm in the winter. Almost all countries are warm in the summer unless you are going to Antartica, which is actually a continent, but that’s besides the point. Actually, you say country, but countries like the US are fairly warm in the bottom third, while the upper two thirds of the country I would not call hot climates.

I’d say more or less in between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn it’s hot. Some countries are very mountainous, and so then the temps are not so hot at high altitudes. You can go even a little more north and south and it’s still hot.

Hot, near the poles people tend to huddle together in big countries to keep warm.
