I’m considering Basecamp for project collaboration, but am wondering if other options exist.

What type of project are you working on?

Basecamp is the best. Not sure of any alternatives. Use the entire basecamp suite – btw.

I looked into this a while ago for a couple of projects, and came up with a whole raft of ideas. Not many of them panned out to be any use though. It depends a lot on what you’re trying to achieve, what you’re looking to share and what resources you have to throw at it.

I’d give a second nod to basecamp, I haven’t found anything web based that non-techie folks pick up more easily. Usually people are up to speed in a day or so and actually enjoy keeping track of thoughts and files there. For me, that’s the most important feature of the collaborative software, that people will actually use it.

Just my experience, what other options are you considering? I’d love to check them out.
