Asked by picklezz1100 (1points) March 15th, 2009

My boyfriend and i were parked on the side of the rode having a disagreement and for some stupid reason he turned the both of his blinkers on while we were talking. Anyways a cop pulled us over and said that we smelled like we had been drinking. we told the truth and he just let us go with underage drinking tickets. i know that i will have to pay a fine and take some classes but what kind of fine am i looking at? and will i have to do jail time? I’m so freaking scared someone please help!

If you lived under my roof, you wouldn’t be spending much time anywhere else for a while.

You would be spending a whole lot more time with your English homework, particularly the classes you missed when they were teaching you how to spell and how to punctuate.

The boyfriend would also be “persona non grata” around here for a while and his parents would know about the transgression, as well as the lucky break the cop gave you.

Your fine would be paid by me, DAD, and you wouldn’t go to jail, although that’s not a bad thought….............

Hopefully, you’ll learn a lesson and act like the adult the government seems to think you are.

If he gave you a ticket there’s a number probably on the back that you can call to find out the amount you owe.

I got into trouble when I was 18 for drinking. You’ll pay the fine, probably have to sit through 1 saturday of “alcohol edu” classes and that’s about it. No worries. However, i’d recommend not doing it again.

“what will happen to me?” probably not anything bad enough to stop you from doing it again, until either you are dead or you kill someone else driving drunk. Unfortunately that’s the way it seems to go these days.

@Staalesen: they were parked by the side of the road, which means that they were either driving after drinking, or had parked there, had a few, and were planning to drive after drinking. Getting off with a citation for drinking while underage is slight by comparison to driving while intoxicated, regardless of age.

Or is driving while intoxicated acceptable where you are?
