Ahhh........the love songs of the 70s. we all had a favorite. what was yours?

Asked by john65pennington (29258points) January 24th, 2010

The 70s music will mainly be remembered for the many love songs from that era. like, Fool(if you think its over—Chris Rhea) and so many others. back then, i was not much at dancing(since i was the one making the music), so today, my wife and i are making up for lost time. our kids are grown and gone and its time for us to rediscover each other with some of the best slow songs of the 70s. i need some really good slow song suggestions to once again get my “groove on”. hey, who says older folks still can’t have fun? which was your favorite and why?

They had a concert in Las Vegas and it was shown on cable for a while. it was fantastic. i have watched it over and over many times. i have yet to hear one mistake that Chicago has ever made in any of their recordings. if you listen to their music with a qualtiy set of headphones, you will understand what i mean. thanks for the answer, Marina.

Bridge Over Troubled Water / Simon and Garfield

And I agree with Pandora, anytime a special on music from the 60s, 70s and on plays I react like that. However, my all time favorite love song to this day is by Rod Stewart “You’re in my Heart”!!!

@Harp I love the song Our House!

Oh my gosh, all of them (even though I wasn’t alive when they came out)! I can’t pick just one, so here are a few of my faves:

1. “Heart of Glass”—Blondie
2. “I Want You To Want Me”—Cheap Trick. When I was a teenager, I actually had a t-shirt with the song’s title printed on the front in fuzzy velour letters. I might come to regret that one day, but I don’t yet. ;)
3. “Everlasting Love” by Carl Carlton

@lonelydragon – That’s a great song, Everlasting Love.
