Is there an equivalent to the Westminster Dog show for mutts? Should there be?

Asked by elbanditoroso (33159points) February 12th, 2019

Instead of rewarding those uptight, inbred, hoity-toity, purebred dogs, should there be a dog event that calls attention to blue-collar, mixed-breed mutts?

Yeah, every time an animal friend goes to a an animal shelter and has a look at all the residents, and chooses one to share their life with.

Except for conformation, most dog shows are now inclusive of mixed breeds in obedience, agility, tracking, go to grounds, etc.

The conformation portions are less “hoity toity” and more about preserving specific traits that are useful for specific tasks.
