Would you ever consider using a Pet Sitter to care for your pets & How much would you be willing to pay for a Half Hour Visit?

We just made a difficult decision to leave our cat at home alone when we are out of town next week, and have a sitter check on him once per day. What made the decision difficult is that we just lost our other cat earlier this week and the two were very close. However, after tapping the collective and asking around to other people I trusted, we realized that it would be less stressful to leave our cat at home alone than take him on the plane with us. We are using the pet sitting service recommended by our vet. We will be paying $13/visit for one cat.

Yes however, I'm fortunate to know people who like animals. I usually pay $10-12 per hour or a 12 pack of their preferred beer.
