What are the prospects of a dedicated skier after meniscus tear repair?

Asked by sanett (3points) January 15th, 2009

After an 8/08 successful surgery for a meniscus tear, my knee was pretty close to normal…a bit of snap crackle pop but nothing that interfered with normal activities. But skiing is something else, and my knee was both unstable and painful….after a couple of runs I had to pack it in. Could anyone in a similar situation let me know about your experience? Will the knee somehow compensate for the partially removed meniscus or is skiing a thing of the past? THANKS!!!

This should give you some good insight from people in the same boat as you.
