If ur running a temp I would stay away from anything that is a diuretic. You need to stay hydrated and green tea, although healthy for you will make you pee more. I would stick with straight water and juices to keep your energy up. But if your glands are swollen and you have a fever, you should go see a doctor. A fever means a possible infection and antibotics may be something you may need.

Absolutely. Just make sure that for every mug of tea you drink, you match it with a glass of plain water. You don’t need to go to the doctor until your temperature is 104° F or more. Fevers are your body fighting off infection for itself, and until you reach 104° F your brain isn’t at risk of boiling.

The heat of the liquid won’t matter too much, altho warm would be better than hot. Regular tea would probably not be the best. Russian tea would be my choice.

Also a cool, but not cold, shower will help bring your temp down.

If your fever isn’t gone by morning, or if it goes over 104 for an extended period, call your Dr.
Don’t just go in unless he tells you to. Sometimes the exposure to the germs in his office will make your condition worse.

@WestRiverrat How does “russian tea” differ from “regular tea”?

@papayalily I think he meant chamomile?

1 c. lemon flavored ice tea mix
1 c. Tang orange flavored drink mix
½ c. sugar
½ tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. cloves

Mix all ingredients together. Store in airtight container. To make hot tea: Use 3 teaspoons mix for each cup of tea. Add hot water.

The spices help sooth the throat, and the Vitamin C in the tang helps.

@WestRiverrat That sounds delicious! I want to make some right now!

But we dont have tang in Canada LOL.

@XOIIO I think you can just use orange juice.

Honestly when ever I am feeling under the weather, a big mug of green tea and some honey fixes me right up.

Drinking hot drinks won’t be a problem if you have a fever. One of my favourites when I’m feeling ill is to steep a couple of slices of fresh ginger and a slice of lemon in hot green tea, sweetened with a little honey.

It’s important to drink plain water as well.
