(NSFW) At what age did you first see any erotic content?

Asked by krrazypassions (1355points) May 15th, 2011

It so happens that there are age restrictions in most of the nations on watching x-rated, adult content… and many individuals first see such content while they are still below the legal age, because maybe as some say, restriction seems to fuel one’s curiosity even further!
So when did you first watch any porn/erotic content?

I was about 8 or 9, it was in the form of magazines stolen from older kids. They were a kind of currency in school.

Teenager and in those days it was a collection of black and white dirty postcards. Really boring.

As for porn, it was around the age of 13, when a friend and I discovered her father’s stack of Playboys in their basement. When it comes to something with an X-rating, I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen it.

10 years old.
I start beating it at around 11–12.

Yep, I’m an oldster now. The first porn I ever saw was probably a Playboy mag. at a friends house waay back in the 60’s. Then as an older teen there was an x rated drive-in on the outskirts of town. We’d park outside somewhere in the weeds and watch the movies. Incredibly mild compared to the monster porn puppy that has grown like Clifford the big red dog in the last 30 years.

I have discussed my porn thoughts before here, I think it can be very damaging for those that tend to abuse it.

14 – A friend showed me her brother’s adult video (XXX). I definitely was too young to see it.

I think 11. I remember when I was 12, a friend showed me a magazine of naked boys, and told me he was getting his picture taken for good money. He said the deal was that the pictures would stay unpublished until he turned 18, at which point he could then approve or deny the use of the pictures. He saw it as win/win since he was getting money right then, and he could deny their use in 6 years. He tried to talk me into doing it also. I wasn’t having any of that!
Several months later, he found out his pictures were already being published. He was quite upset about it (and rightly so), but if you play a game like this with adults, you have to know they won’t play by the rules.
Oh, and this boy’s father was a pastor at a local church. They moved that year. I don’t know if there was a connection.

Under 10yrs old. My parents and grandparents had stacks of porn mags I used to pore over.

My brothers penthouse and playboy magazines. I was probably about 12 or 13. Thought the penthouse was gross but the playboy was done in better taste. Wasn’t great for my self esteem at the time. I remember thinking that if that was what guys were looking for, I would never be that in a billion years. TALL. LOL

When I was about 10–12 I lived in my grandparents’ old Victorian house and the attic was one that had the whole family history of junk in it. There were piles of my Uncle’s Playboy magazines, and I used to look at them. I also remember enjoying the dirty jokes. This was in the mid-70’s.

When I was 16 I went to Times Square with a boyfriend and we saw a porn movie. That was when Times Square was for dirty movies and hookers, not anything like it is today.

I was 8. It was a friend of mine’s older brothers Playboy stash. We weren’t old enough to think “woo sexy!” it was more like “snicker.. naked ladies!”

I remember getting mad because one magazine had all these women in “natural” poses, doing housework and I griped about how fake it looked. “Oh yeah, she was just ironing with her leg hiked up like that.. and someone HAPPENED to come by and take a picture..” stuff like that.

Yesterday! Imagine my disgust XD

My first experience was with very soft porn magazines which had been discarded and thrown away as litter. This added to the sense that it was forbidden and somehow ‘dirty’.

6.

I was looking for clothes and shoes in my then 20-something aunt’s closet to play dress-up with; the stash was right behind her shoeboxes on the floor. The one that sticks in the memory is a pictorial of a lady sexing up a random guy who delivered her groceries. I figured out what was happening in short order. It was like, “Oh, so that’s what people do.”

After that, not again until some frat boys at uni had a loop of some 70s porn film on a wall rolling during a party. Everyone seemed to think that the actors’ hairiness and bodies were funny. By the 90s, the toned-and-hairless look was the standard.

I do remember that as a tween, my cousin kept trying to manipulate the TV after a certain time at night in order to unscramble the porn channel signal. I think his manipulations finally killed the set and my aunt never figured out why.

I was around 12 or 13. It just popped up out of nowhere on the computer… and I got curious and ventured further…

I know for sure I saw a decade old playboy one summer, high up on top of a stack of hay in a loft. I was 17. I feel sure I must have seen playboys before, but I don’t remember exactly when.

DominicX's avatar

I remember a long time ago something popping up on the screen and me covering my eyes and exiting out of it. I don’t remember when that was, but I suppose that technically was the first time. But I barely saw and I don’t even remember what or when it was. The first time I actually legitimately looked at porn was when I was 14. I remember searching for “naked guys” or something on Google, I seriously didn’t even know where to begin and this was the time where I was only beginning to admit to myself that I was homosexual. But the stories of people showing their friends porn at young ages never happened to me.

Joker94's avatar

Around 12. I was curious for a while and had dabbled on it, and over that summer I fully explored it. My parents went out on vacation for a week and I was under minimal supervision for a few days, and really just kind of…went at it XD

I was about 5 years old. I didn’t really care about it.

I would say around 10 we were looking for our christmas presents and found my fathers playboys, cheri’s and such and couldn’t believe the pictures in there.

Sometime in my twenties, well after college. I was pretty sheltered as a young person.

This answers the subject question (when did you first see) but not the details question (when did you first watch). “Watch” implies a moving image, whereas “see” could be print. I don’t think I saw a porn video until I was in my thirties.

Hm, I was probably seven or so, around there, thirteen when I started watching porn. My computer then was old and clunky, running Windows 98 and somehow it managed to get what I presume was a virus. This resulted in a pop-up ad for ‘international women’ every time I opened Internet Explorer. The ad was dark, a navy blue or black, and in the center was a picture Zen garden with a small waterfall, left of it was an Asian woman, naked, and on the right side of the page was the description of the site, proving that it was, in fact, pornographic, or a brothel ad for all I knew.

Across the top was the title of whatever this was: “Sexy Women Of the World”. Now the woman shown really was not an attractive woman at all, just in general, not because of her ethnicity. She had a bit of a pot-belly and had unkept pubic hair up to her navel. She had a nice face, but her breasts had bright red nipples, which frightened me at age seven because initially I thought she was bleeding, being naive to anatomy. This happened every time I opened my browser, I couldn’t avoid it, so I mustered through it. Until my mom found out and had my dad get rid of the virus. Which I was glad about.

Five years later, while doing a report on Germany, I stumbled across a photo of three topless German women, and at that point, enjoyed looking at the photo. Shortly after that, I got a computer put in my room, and stumbled across a similar photo. Then shortly after that my curiosity got me and I searched for the same photo, and more from its website. Then eventually, just looked up regular porn.

I was in 4th grade. I popped in one of my dad’s videos because I thought it was an animal documentary.

aprilsimnel's avatar

@Ajulutsikael Well, viewed in a certain light, it is a documentary!

ddude1116's avatar

@aprilsimnel If documentary’s present things in a completely exaggerated and unrealistic fashion, yes.

If you were an alien wanting to know how humans fantasize, it can tell a lot about us!

@aprilsimnel So true, and not everything that would be said about us is nice.
